"Faith" - What is it?
Welcome to Mini Sunday Devotions, I’m Daniel McQuerry and I am so excited that you have joined us here today. Today we want to start something new, we want to take you on a journey that not only shows you some of our unique mini golf holes but also enlightens you through scripture. We start with a 3-part study on 1st Corinthians 13:13 where Paul talks about the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Hole 16 on Course 2 which is a particularly important hole on our course that depicts the first of the three gifts described in this verse. As you can tell by looking at the hole it depicts the letter F. That F standing for something important, Faith. What is faith you might ask, well by definition it would be “complete trust or confidence in someone or something.” But what does the biblical meaning of faith mean. Many times the bible tells us that we should trust God Proverbs 3:5, Jeremiah 17:7, and Psalms 37:5. These are just a few of the many times we are told to put our Trust in God. Now going back to the definition of faith, which says we should put our “complete trust” in someone and that someone is God. When we put all of our faith in God it’s not trusting him because he could put emphasis on “could” bring us though a particular struggle it’s that he WILL put emphasis on “will” bring us through it. Life has been rough over the past few months for all of us but by putting our faith in God, he will bring us through it. In order to please God, we must act on this Faith, hence the line “take a leap of faith.” Scripture tells us faith the size of a mustard seed could move mountains. Paints an amazing picture right. Whether you are leery to start a new career or have a situation in your life you need help with, put your Faith in God. Going along with this we must make sure to put our faith in God and nowhere else. We as humans try to put our Faith in secular things such as the news, our friends, or in politics and we always end up hurting ourselves because those things we put our faith in tend to let us down 100% of the time. Psalms 118:8 tells us “It is better to take refuge in God then to put trust in man.” Seeing this, I can promise you that when you put your faith in God he will always have your back and is truly to only one you can count on. I encourage each of you to dig deeper in your faith and letting God be a part of all aspects of your life. Here at Lexington Ice Center we have always put an emphasis on Faith. We try to make it a part of our daily routine as much as possible, I hope you can start to do the same. As we conclude with this devotion I would like to say I am open to pray for anyone that needs, drop a comment or private message us. Also stay tuned for Next Sundays episode which will also be good. Come by and see us any day this week for biblical mini golf and remember when all else fails. Trust God! Love you guys!
